Iphone 3GS

Good morning all,
I have an Iphone 3GS and have an AT&T go phone sims chip and plan. Well I did not read the fine print, no smartphones (iphone's) can have data plans with the go phone plan. I want a data plan for it without having a contract, anyone know how I can do this ?
