hi. i have a couple of questions. do any of you have cingular/at&t and have a triband phone? i want to purchase a triband phone that supports 1900/1800/900. i have talked to cingular many times and they said they are not sure how well i will always have service. could anyone tell me if i would have service with a triband phone, or would the phone be doomed to bad service?

Re: gsm sim cards
cingular uses the 850 and 1900 bands. There are areas in the country where they do not have 1900 towers, so you will not get service there. Unless there is something really spiffy about the phone that you cannot get on another phone, don't buy it.
You quite likely wonder what made you buy it in the first place.

Re: gsm sim cards
hi thanks for the reply. i bought the phone before i read this. i checked a gsm 1900 coverage map for cingular and i found the coverage not to be that bad. i live in ct which is mostly covered by cingular gsm 1900. im thinking it should work ok. the phone hasn't arrived yet though so i am waiting nervously.
