My parents bought 2 Sony t62u phones from Cingular long ago. Then my father wouldn't use his.Said it was too complicated.I got a phone off E-bay and used his SIM so we'd not waste $$$ on the acct.I went to the local AT&T Store(Corporate) last night and explained to them I had a 5 year old SIM and that I needed to get a newer one(old one was 32k).Also told her that my Go Phone SIM(3g) did better on recption in the same phone(Razr). She set me up with a new AT&T 3g SIM for free. Now this may not work for everyone. They may charge you $25,or try to.But go to a Corporate Store, not a reseller.Tell them if nothing else, that customer service told you over the phone it could be done for free.At least this way,if you desire to upgrade to a 3g phone later, you have a proper SIM for it.Also,I have a sneaking feeling that AT&T would like to get everyone to newer 64k 3g SIMs anyhow.Just my opinion,YMMV

True.I do like that they did it for free though.I would guess that they'd like all customers in good standing to have current SIM cards and such.Probably less problems that way.
