This is a very, VERY strange problem and I'm wondering if anyone here can help me... Maybe point me in the right direction?

I keep getting calls on my at&t cellular phone from an "unknown" number (I assume that means its out of area?). The caller goes on to threaten me, saying he'll hunt me down and hurt me and what not. I started off trying to ignore it, but the person continued to call back over and over again.

Odd enough, right? I didn't recognize the voice... It was really freaky.

I get sick of it. So I call up at&t and explain my problem. The tech suggests we change my online account password, at which that point I say "online account? what online account?" Turns out somebody made an online account for me... Great.

The tech tells me we should put a password on my wireless account, lock my online account, change my wireless number (which was a huge hastle... many of my business clients have my wireless number) and send a notice to at&t security about this problem.

I agree to do anything it takes to make this stop.

The problem calms down. I only talk to people I deeply trust, loved ones who I know wouldn't be involved in this harassment. Within a week, I don't believe this... I'm getting calls again! I ask the caller how he keeps getting my number and he says he owns my entire identity, he "owns me", and he won't stop until I'm dead. He also says "did you enjoy your call with Mark? (my business associate) Good luck with the deal, ****er!" uh... I was speechless. I don't want to jump to conclusions here, but how... how would he know that? Is there any way this person could be listening in on my calls?

I'm a little more then freaked out. I'm deeply disturbed... What on earth?

    Can anyone help...?

Wow, that is really creepy. It sounds like they are still getting into your online account. That would explain how they can see your call history. However knowing information that was discussed in the call itself sounds like it goes a little deeper.

I would monitor your bank statements and bills closely. Change passwords to everything. Change your locks if you really feel the need. Get a locking mail box. Do not throw away any sensative information without shredding it. Etc.

btw, moved this to AT&T forum since it is somewhat specific to that carrier

Sounds to me like some how someone has tapped or cloned your cell.

Also contact every single company you do business with. Change ALL passwords. Put security questions on all of them. DO NOT USE the last four of your social security number. If you shred anything, get a cross cut shredder. Ribbon types will allow the "bad guy" to reassemble the document.

Take a look also at the "Big Three" Credit reporting angencies. A yearly credit check is free and you can put a "fraud monitor" on.

    Re: Strange Harassment Problem

why not try to ask the AT&T to tell them to block unknown phone numbers like how my friend did... so i can't prank call him n e more -.-

but the point is u can Block UnKnown numbers n den the only way for them to threaten you is to call you with the Direct number... and with that number u can call AT&T again to tell them to block that specific number...

and do you have any problems with a man or women (depends who's da voice on the phone is)
