Ok this is my situation.
I have a family plan with 2 additional lines on it. I'd like to remove one of those lines. But those 2 lines recently upgraded so it would cost me $160 to cancel that line. There are 21 months left on the contract.
I have been trying to transfer the contract to someone else through those cell swap sites. One person seemed interested, I even paid $10 inextra paypal money to contact them. They said they need to look over their options this weekend, fingers crossed.
My other option would be to just eat the $160 etf and then try and sell 2 phones that I have. Both are sony w580i, both in ok condition a few scratches on edges but still work fine. How much could I get for those? perhaps enough to subsidize the etf?
Any help or advice would be appreciated. The additional line is just eating a $10 hole in my pocket every month and I'd like to just get rid of it.

Check eBay and see how much they go for. Even if you can't make the entire amount it will still help.

w580i isn't gonna get u much...yea $160 to cancel it is a little to much. I suggest you should find a relatives or someone you know if they're interested.

If you are keeping other services, depending on your tenure, payment history you can ask for their retentions team, if you are keeping some service they will work with you on possibly reducing the ETF as long as your account is in good standing...and I dont mean right now, we look at everything to decide about waiving the ETF--if you have ever been disconnected for non-payment, how much you pay a month and how long you've been a customer. If all that is good enough they might cut the ETF in half or something, can depend on the person you get.
I agree you won't get much for a 580i walkman, they're getting outdated and we don't even sell a lot of them anymore...don't waste anymore money trying to find someone to take the contract if you call and get the right person in customer service they would be more helpful than waiting on a stranger.
