After having dropped and broke my current phone I attempted to order another model from ATT online, as we had an upgrade available under our plan.

The order went through fine but I received two order confirmations through e-mail. One minute later I received another e-mail saying that my order had been cancelled. I attempted to place an order again with same results. I called ATT the next day, but they were not able to tell me what was going on, and that my only option was to purchase a phone from my local ATT store.

I called again the next day and spoke with several representatives who said they would be able to take my order over the phone, but I could no longer place an order online because my account had now been messed up internally on their end. Their explanation for the cancellations was that the original phone was no longer available. I asked her if they were sure of that, because I placed my order six times, but had only received five cancellations. I thought maybe the original order did go through, and that is why they were cancelling any subsequent orders. They said "no", because the original phone is nol longer available. I ordered a different phone and they even threw in free priority shipping.

The next day I received my phone, along with a second shipment of the phone I originally ordered. I activated the second phone and thought maybe I'd just hang on to the extra phone in case another of our phones ever took a crap.

Would I have to have this extra phone unlocked, or can I just slide an existing SIM card into it? I received new sim cards with both of the phone.

Sorry for a long first post. Thanks in advance.
