Black Screen Samsung Solstice

My phone was working fine, then suddenly a blank screen. I thought my battery had died. I recharged it, and the charging status does appear on the screen, however, nothing else. It is though it is turned off. Has anyone had this problem? There has been no damage. I had just received a reply to a text. I went to check if there had been any more replies, and my screen was blank (actually black). I can't get it to turn back on.

My phone, a Samsung Solsitce, was working fine and I had just called someone. I put it in my bag and took it out about an hour later. I had not bumped the bag against anything at all or possibly have damaged it. I took it out and it had a blank or black screen. I can turn it on and feel the buttons being touched (I know this due to vibration feedback) but nothing can be seen, so it doesn't help anything. I tried charging it, removing the battery, removing the sim card, and removing the sd card. Nothing worked. Can someone please help me with this? I really want my phone to work.

A soft reset should fix this issue... first take out the battery, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, plug the battery back in...turn on the phone... hope this helps
