How to determine whether my cell is bugged or not

(Not sure if this is the right forum, if not i apologize)

hey, purchased my cell phone about 2 years ago. havent really noticed any strange activity going on. i do, however, want to rule out what little possibility there is of someone having installed a bug/downloaded a hack.

in the process of my suspicion ive looked for obvious signs such as the cell turning itself on and off periodically or heating up over time, but have come up empty handed. still, i wonder, is there a surefire way of ruling out the possibility of someone having tapped my cell phone?

They do make hand held scanners for bugs. Google "bug scanner" and you will find links. They vary in price from 60 - 600 dollars, and I would wager you get what you pay for, but something around 100-150 should detect most bugs, the fancier (more expensive) scanners detect the more stealth ones. You might consider buying one, trying it out on your phone, and returning it. That way you're not out the money, and you can get your answer as to whether or not its bugged.
