Hey all. How are ya? I have a question. I have an Audiovox CMD 8900 from verizon. I love the phone but HATE how the front screen blinks from the TIME to the VERIZON WIRELESS. I also hate the little girl that pops up when you get an incoming call. Is there ANY way I can change this?? Even if I have to pay I will. The phone and the features are great. But I cant take these little things.

I want the time to stay on the front screen without blinking to the verizon wireless text every 5 secs. HELP please. I will pay you if I have to!

    Thanks in advance

Hey, there is, in fact, a way to do this, but you have to mess with the ERI_binary.bin file. It ISN'T recommended at all because if you're not sure with what you're doing, you will permanently damage your phone. If you've got a cable & bitpim, then there's a way to do it, but again, you could damage your phone. If you're still interested in messing with your phone through a cable with bitpim, then just let me know and I'll pm you the instructions. I'd post it but it's from another site and I don't want to get banned for advertising.

If that's not an option, there's a better option. One of my friends took their 8900 to our local Verizon store. They flashed it to the newest version, and the Verizon banners on the main & sub LCD disappeared. I haven't gotten my 8900 flashed yet, but definately will soon. If you go to your Verizon store, just ask if they can remove the annoying Verizon banner that flashes. There's some techs that do it within minutes. But you have to remember, some techs will do it, and other's just plain won't.
