I was wondering the same thing, I was going to get one for free as well, but I thought I better check it out a little more. So any information (pros cons) would be greatly appreciated by me as well.

well I just got one, it wasn't free, it was $70, not counting taxs.
Pros:
- Has a camra
-store up to 20 to 30 pictures for free
- its in color
- ringtone, games, walpaper, and anyother thing can be downloaded on the phone.
- has internet
- texting, picture texting
- recorder for memos or alarms
- Lots of custumablitly
Cons:
- Pictures taking with camra can come out a little bulry, but then again its a camra cell phone
- Internet you have to pay $4.95 every month insted of pay as your on it.
- the recorder is kinda crapy, and you can set it as a ringtone.
- if you find a thing were you can send a clip of a mp3 to you phone, it sounds ok, but it normal doesn't support it well, if theres a guitar and drums in it, it can sound like chaos lol.
It has the basics of a cell phone to todays standards, theres nothing special that I see that makes it stands out. But I don't mind it, I like, I don't suggest it to people who are looking to take good pictures with the camra, but its a cell phone, you use it to call people with. And it gets the job done. I give it a 7/10, its colorful, and easy to use. But for $70? Its your choice. But I guess people are getting it for free, as posted above, lucky, get if its free. So I'll leave it off with diffently a phone to check out.Last edited by eyeoftiger; 05-19-2005 at 09:51 PM.

Well, down at the Verizon Store I frequent (about 4 times a week), they hate them, and will try their very best to talk custormer's from getting it.
Besides what's mentioned above, that being just a ok phone, it has many, many internal problems, both with software and hardware.
The last one I seen was the external screen just popped off for no reason. The lady broght the phone in because it was just hanging up calls for no reason (audiovox phones are notorious for this) and while the Verizon Rep was holding it, the outer screen just popped off and fell on the floor. (by the way, the phone was 2 weeks old).
All of us just looked at each other and started laughing. She ended up with a LG VX6100, which she later came back to say she's very pleased with.
I had a Audiovox 9900, which I really liked. Well build, one of the best inside screen's I have ever seen, but after the sixth phone in about two months, I finally gave up on the phone and went back to my LG VX 8000.

I have one and my gf has one we hate ours... I also had an audiovox 8410...
So far one major flaw with audiovox's is they seem to data error a LOT... So if you plan to download wallpaper becareful your liable to crash your phone completely... As well sending and receiving pics (usually upon opening a new one) will data error your phone out.
Id say as of late, id stay away from audiovox.
