Does anyone have any experience using an Audiovox SMT 5600 Smartphone sold by AT&T on a Cingular GSM network? Mine is working fine except I am unable to connect to data service via GPRS. That means no email or internet. Cingular customer service is clueless about the needed configuration of the phone. AT&T won't talk to me since I am not a subscriber and did not buy the phone from them (ebay purchase). I am able to connect to the GPRS services and get to the internet using my sim card in other phones so I am pretty sure it is a phone configuration issue.
Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.

Cingular settings
in Data Connections, click Menu then Edit Connections
Choose GPRS Connections, then add a new one called Cingular or whatever you want to call it.
The Access point is wap.cingular
The username and password are case sensitive and ALL CAPS:
username: [email protected]
password: CINGULAR1
(and yes, I did join the forum just to answer this question. I had the exact same problem yesterday, so I know how you feel.)

ATT to Cingular conversion
I have a the 5600 on the ATT network and would like to change to cingular but cant seem to find anyone who knows how or what to do to make the phone cingular compatable. I've tried inserting a cingular SIM chip but i cant get service. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
