Unfortunately for you and for me we do use Alltel. You will not receive any ringtones, wallpapers or anything else that others say you can receive. Nor can you get free AIM, MSN or Yahoo Messenger. Alltel was my choice only because the other carriers jack you around more than Alltel does.

Then the cable option may be your only choice.

I agree, get the cable. This is what I did after I bought my phone in May. I Googled for "cell phone forums". This one is one of 5 I found that are relatively active. I read ALL the posts pertaining to Audiovox(any model of 89xx) and Alltel. When I found a nugget of information I copied and pasted to a Word document. After a couple of weeks of doing that I distilled my Word document down to the information that I felt would be of the most help. Then I bought the cable recommended here and started experimenting. I have ringtones, wallpaper, screensavers (not animated) and a couple other things I won't mention. I screwed up a couple of times and when I couldn't solve the problem I asked a question in the forum.

Remember patience is a virtue. Too many questions in too many forums about the same thing will sometimes result in no response at all.

Just my .02 worth. Good luck.
