8910 help

so far this website has been really helpful in helping me get started with my phone.

i have the audiovox 8910 with the usb cables and everything
i have metro pcs as my carrier
i've got the drivers installed along with bitpim and followed the directions i've seen on this website

my problem is that i'm not sure if i'm supposed to be getting "my phone data" from bitpim or just running through the filesystem.
in my case when i try to get the phone data i'm not able to because all of the options are grey and i am not able to click on anything except cancel or help.

i know that my phone is communicating to my computer though because it shows up in my device manager and i was able to upload my pictures from my phone onto my computer...

the part i'm not understanding is once i get my ringtone converted and into the filesystem under the ringtones what next? everything seems to be fine up until this point... how do i get my computer to get my ringtones onto my phone once the 10.dat file is in my ringtone file on my file server?!

any help would be sooooooooo much appreciated.

i actually figured this one out on my own! i had just saved the ringtones under the wrong file type.
