    8910

hey yeah there are some randomly stupid things that you have to do to connect and transfer data such as pix or custom ringtones to and from your cdm8910 ... first you have to punch in (before connecting with usb) ##7678 then press the end key ... go to diag and switch to usb diag ... you may have been told this before and it is essential ... next you need the usb drivers for the cord you're using ... next you need a bitpim ... but i am not sure on the version ... the latest one seems to have messed with some option not allowing me to connect to my phone anymore ... anyway you'll have to find that in another forum ... i remember finding it somewhere sorry i don't have it now ... anyway after setting that God-awful mess up ... the trick is to go into /filesystem and into your phone and into pictures and right click and save to ... if you want to transfer pictures that is ... sound is a different story ... if you want to do custom ringtones then creation is very simple ... first you need some sort of file converting software which is simple enough to retrieve ... next change to wav it makes things easier ... take it into your sound recorder in accessories and section off what you want to hear as your ringer ... usually the longest you will hear the ring is 30 seconds ... take that cut file into a file converting system to change to mp3 with 22400dbs mono ... and really to be safe for sound as not to blow out the delicate cell speaker, you should increase or decrease the sound while in sound recorder ... preferably keep it really low ... then you can increase the sound on the phone ... finally when you have your finished product it's time to drop it in the phone ... as it used to work for me with the cdm8910, you would have the phone connected after inputing the ##7678 thing, go filesystem and sounds recordings and put it in there ... the FINAL trick is ... after bitpim shows it is finished with the transfer, unplug your phone, go into the "get it now" section of the phone ... far enough that it connect to the get it now network ... then back out to your normal screen with the end button and go into your media and sound to check if, in fact, your transfer was successful ... if it was, let the tune play and note any big problems such as there being too much sound for the simple speaker to produce ... this is something you can remedy (as i said above) with window's sound recorder by decreasing the sound ... i believe it lowers in increments of 25%

i am unsure how many tones you can store or anything like that ... i only know the trick with the usb diag and the get it now ...

actually i'm slightly fed up with this pile ... i'll be switching to another phone shortly and i plan to check each of my options online to make sure it doesn't get so INSANELY HOT when you talk on it for five minutes ... seriously it's like a ball of fire on my face ... horrible ... and the connection to get to ringtones is insanely difficult on here ... it's far simpler on other phones ... also the damn cam button is too easy to press in thus wasting battery ... you have no idea how many times that has happened ... and i would get a razr but if i would bust it i'd feel really stupid ... so i'm going to go a little cheaper ... actually my friend has had better luck with his free phone than i have with this ... and i paid 70 for it ... how ripped off was i ... i'm a fool ... anyway i guess if you're in the predicament and actually have read all of this then you can't help it anymore ... but tell your pals that this phone isn't too great ... and to be sure they want it before getting it ... anyway there are much better phones available than this now

hope this helped ... but it might not have sry

    benz1n0 kicks ass TY

benz1n0 you rock I knew there was someone that had the answers I needed ,I'm not worried about the ring tones or anything else other then the pictures. that was the only reason I got this phone, I didn't realize it was goin to take an act of god to retrieve the pictures, actually now that I know some more about this I don't see what the whole big stink is about having a cell phone with a camera in it , if it's gonna be such a hassle to view the pictures anywhere other then on the phone. Yeah and like you I'm gonna junk this piece of ahhh never mind.Think I'll just go back to the clown that sold it to me tellin me it was the latest thing on the market, and smack him in the mouth ofr liein to me about this junk. again THANK YOU very much for all your time and help

send the pictures as a picture text message to your e-mail address or instant messenger. No cable required. This is how my daughter got her pics from her phone to our computer. Same phone as you 8910.

If you send through picture messaging without a plan for your mobile browser or pic/vid it will cost you. And if your provider is selling an 8910 as the "latest thing on the market" he/she is definately lieing to you. There is better. But in the end a cell phone doesn't take that great of pictures anyways...
