Possible to turn off startup/shutdown tones?

Is there any way to disable the little tune that plays when I turn my 8915 Snapper on and off? Sometimes I'd like the phone to be entirely silent. Thanks.

I haven't gone to the trouble of googling your user manual, but I seem to recall someone having a similar conversation about the 8910 model, and they came to the conclusion the only way was probably to silence the phone before you turn it off by turning the volume all the way down. If you can't find a setting to adjust the power on/off volume in the phone's menu, try this.

I don't know much about Audiovox phones, but on most phones I've played with, you have to turn the volume down past "off" to get to "silence". This is just general information not specific to any phone in particular, so if you've lost your user manual google it by searching "8915 user manual". Then, power cycle your phone to see if it remains silent when it goes off and on.

Thanks. I couldn't find anything relevant in the user manual. I tried turning the volume all the way down, to no effect. I tried putting it in Silencer Mode, but that only quieted the shutdown tones; it played again on startup. Any other thoughts, anyone?
