    What a joke.

Sol Trujillo and his amigos have set up a new website to promote
Government-bashing and removal of regulations at:
    https://www.nowwearetalking.com.au

It is an official Telstra site; linked from their corporate homepage.

The funniest thing is that they couldn't even trust their own Bigpond to
host the site, opting for twoplums.com.au instead!!

Not much better that the Telstra Shops official website at:
    http://www.alphalink.com.au/~bpoll/TRS/TRSindex.htm which is also hosted
    elsewhere and not on Bigpond.

Funny - the 'Readers Poll' from the frontpage has disappeared. Last time
I checked 75% were thinking that there is not too much regulation. Which
    is hardly a surprise.

nowwearetalking only as long as it suits us ...

It's been replaced with a new poll and the old one archived (evidently you
missed the "View archived polls" link immediately below the current poll).

    http://www.nowwearetalking.com.au/Home/PollArchive.aspx

Do you think Australia is over regulated?
    Yes - 34.4%
    No - 65.6%

    The current poll is good:

Who should subsidise high-cost telco services to the bush?
    a) Entire telco industry
    b) Government
    c) Telstra

    How about d) no-one?

What is so bloody special about telco services (beyond a basic phone line)
that makes it vitally important that everyone even in the sticks has
broadband? The hype about this subject suggests that internet access is
more important than hospitals, schools, jobs, etc. It's ok for the cockies
to have no local hospital, school or jobs just so long as they can watch
porn and download the latest bootlegs at 512k or better.

Thx Tom ! Just checked - that link appeared today. There was no polls
    there yesterday.

Still the same flawed argument in the content though ...

    Its f*ckin ridiculous.

Lets have some charging based on cost. Why should I pay $209 for a new line
when there is plenty of capacity all the way from the cabling from my box,
to the pit, to the exchange.

Let the cockies that need 5km of cable run, pay the full cost.
