    A friend of mine in Thailand (I think she is with AIS) has a service
    whereby when you call her the ring tone returned from the carrier is a
    song rather than the normal Thai ring tone. The first time I called it
    was a little off putting, it sounded like MOH!!

    Anyone know if any of the Aust carriers offer this service? What about
    other carriers around the world?

    I think 3 offer it here. Freaked me out the first time I heard it, still has
    the ringtone (albeit quietly) in the background though.
    Bit of a pointless gimmick IMO.

    I raised this here a few years ago; consensus was that Telstra might, but of
    course they never did.

    its called a call back tone on 3, their fun and when people call me for
    the first time they're always freaked for the first time

    Airtel, Hutch etc in New Delhi offer them, and have done for quite some
    time now (i left about 6 years ago, and they were available then)
