Looks like it, Siemens S55 and C45 are both behaving that way.

Well it's incorrect anyway, there is no activity on cell reselection, except
    in an inter-LAC cell reselection.

What i want to know is why has telstra only just started providing this
service? If there's no problem doing it now, what was the problem before?

Is that the 6230 you're referring to? My backup battery in mine hasn't
    worked since day one

That would be the one. Mine died just after the warranty finished.

BTW if you have a Palm Treo 650 it may pay to think twice before you allow
    this "feature".

According to some discussion groups the Treo may handle the changes
incorrectly, thus stuffing up your calender.

I had it on (unknown to myself) and when I went to Los Angeles couldn't work
out why the time on my phone showed local and my diary was one day behind
(Oz time) so I unfortunately missed a few things I should have done.

However this is not the bug reported on the Treo discussion group - seemed
to be something far more serious than that - screwing up everything IIRC.
