entitled to a refund, irrespective of whatever "Michael" or other Telstra
Shop dum****s may claim. The TIO and various fair trading/small claims
tribunals have ****ed Telstra over on these many times.

Nope. The coverage map clearly indicates, that coverage is subject to
limitations accordingly.
You have no recourse for coverage against the map

No, DOA gets you a brand new handset, without repair, not out of your
contract. Do try and keep up.
