Another query, If I buy a jasjar or similiar device, and use 3G Vodafone Sim
in it, am I permanently connected like a mobile phone and also to the
internet to surf web and receive e-mails at the same time?> ($1 for 5
minutes surfing the net on a $79 cap)

"permanent connection" is a bit of a vague concept, as the Internet just
switches packets and doesn't see connections. GPRS and 3G are supposed
to eliminate time-based billing, but some phone companies love it too
    much.
So you need to ask how Vodafone defines "surfing". It should be
in their fine print. Is it for access to their WAP proxy?
