Basically says it's going slower than expected, they're having issues
with W-CDMA cell-fade, and Sol's move of ditching Telstra engineering
has been reversed to try and deal with it.

'...as its struggles to get the network ready for launch on January 1'

Not sure where that date comes from, especially with Michael saying
    they're launching in July.

That's always going to be an issue with W-CDMA (any CDMA
system). Users at vastly different distances are not equal,
and too many active users at shorter range will swamp those
further away with noise. And the new 850 MHz 3G/UMTS W-CDMA
system (recently called 3GSM850 by Telstra) will use lots of
bandwidth as it gets more users. Except in the more remote
areas, it's likely to require more cells than GSM service
    would.

Michael did say "they're launching in July", he just didn't say what year.

I didnt state that 3G 850 was launching at all. I stated the month that the
    CDMA migration offers were available

A note over on Whirlpool says that it will be fired up in October. It's
been brought on earlier to spruik the T3 sale.

Yep, so I read in a thread a little below this one - in the SMH
apparently. Not much other media coverage of it though...

    Nothing to do with T3.

Sheesh. Developments like 3G 850 take literally months and months to plan.

T3 was just announced a couple of weeks ago. There is no way to bring 3G 850
    forward at all

The indicative launch date for 3G 850 has been known for months. The network
has been planned for months and months. The Oct 6 date quoted in the current
launch date, and only became Oct 6 within the last week (it was bumped out
    by a few days)

Johnny's T3 sale has only been announced, what? two Fridays ago?

Sol doesnt pander to Johnny. Simple.
