    hi all,
I have a Samsung z500 and was trying to put some video files from the
computer onto the phone the software (supplied with phone) would not let and
onto the phone not a "real video file" and the files that I was able to
download to phone (.ram/.rm) would not play (message appears "please try
again") or only played audio. could someone tell me what format is supported
by this phone and/or any programs for converting other video files (eg.
mpg/avi/wmv) to a mobile friendly file.

    thanks, Mark

    Re: video files on mobile

Mark the most common 'regular format' for mobile video is .3gp and a very
good program is by xilisoft, http://www.xilisoft.com but I'm sure there are
many more about that can do the format, if you want to spend $$$$ you could
also get quicktime pro, this has 3gp processing/viewing in it also... not
that I am a fan of quicktime...
Sorry I dont know the samsung, but I'm sure someone can help you there or try
    their web site.

I think xilisoft has a trial program, but if you google 3gp, I am sure you
will see bucketloads of programs you could try.
