I am looking at a few Java apps to load onto my phone. I tried one, a
Yahtzee game, to see how it worked and how it looks. However, the game
fills about a quarter of the screen and hence is extremely difficult to
read. I think its spec (the game) are something like 160x160 or
    thereabouts.

I can't find what the Samsung's screen res. figures are? Any of you guys
know what it might be? All it says either on the website or in the
manual is that it's "up to 262k".

    Thanks

Googling for "Samsung A501 Screen Resolution" netted this page:

    http://www.imobile.com.au/Future/def...=futureoct0601

"The mini-LCD on the front of the handset has a 96 x 96 pixel resolution
and is monochrome (aka black and white). The main LCD is the old
    ‘standard’ of 176 x 220 pixels and 262,144 colours. It measures 1.9”
inches and will be good for viewing streaming video that the Next G™
    network is providing."

Silly me. I was looking through Samsung's website. Never occured to me
to look elsewhere. I wonder where it (this site) got its info from...

If this is the case, then why was this game, which runs at 176x188 fits
into less than half the screen? I would have thought that it would be at
least as wide as the A501's screen but not taking up all the vertical
    space.
