Seeing that Rod Speed knows everything, is better than everybody else, and
has to have the final word on everything, perhaps he could respond to this
post and advise us which home/landline phone provider and plan he uses,
along with the same for mobile and internet, so that we can all relax in
knowing what's best for us all.

Rod worked for the PMG for 40 years so he is a dyed in the wool Telstra
    supporter.

Rod is many things, but I see no evidence of him being a telstra supporter,
he seems to have a fairly balanced outlook with most carriers. I also highly
doubt he is in his late eighties.

Was nice of the PMG to keep a dunnycleaner in a life-long career at Griffith
    exchange and line-yard.

Yep, dont currently use them directly for anything at all.

The most I ever do is rub fool's noses in the fact that telstra's
profit leaves all the rest for dead, in fact leaves the total of all
the other telcos that operate in this country for dead, by far.

    Yeah, tad unlikely.

Oh its rod speed, i named him ron. Would like to know his true up/down
speed with dialup. Otherwise he has conformed to that which he is
against? And he is a former dunny cleaner at PMG? That would explain
his continuous 'objection' to views of other Usenet users on
    Aus.comms.

Wonder if 'rod' would know what will happen to The COSPAS SARSAT
    System?
Or maybe what the 156E GOV Satellite Network does?

I'd like to think 'rod' could be more useful and inform this Usenet
group on changes to the Commonwealth RadCom legislation and how this
    might affect us?
With 'rod's' years of experience and demonstrated background of
telecom (his views are quite to the point) he should have no problems
showing us what communications (wired or not) are about??

    How about it "rod"?

Speed can be an annoying **** at times, but he's an annoying **** with a
brain and a half. You might not agree with him, but you'll be hard put
to beat him in an argument. His view isn't always balanced either, but
it usually contains a fair degree of logic - albeit wrapped in attitude
    from hell/

Don't like it? Big deal, lots don't. Get over it.

Despite your cynical implications, I find what Speedo has to say quite
interesting and provocative (but no one is infallible), although he
does seem somewhat cryptic at times (and he is perhaps too personally
abusive, although it is amusing), when I am interested in information
concerning digital technology. It is, in fact, quite good that he
does take the trouble to present his opinions in forums such as this,
since, no matter what his particular personal situation is, it is good
that he is available to help us with information, when most would not
    be able to do so.

That's mostly because Rod won't justify anything he asserts and he turns
to insult anytime he loses the upper hand. You can only win an argument
with a person who is at least semi-rational and is willing to admit
defeat when it stares them in the face.

    > His view isn't always balanced either, but
    >it usually contains a fair degree of logic - albeit wrapped in attitude

Rod's viewpoints are usually presented as incontrovertible truths
without any elaboration on the logic (if any) behind them, so any
logic you see is more likely a figment of your imagination due to
    agreeing with whatever it was.

    >Don't like it? Big deal, lots don't. Get over it.

Agreed. There's no point at all getting mad at Rod. You'll just
    give yourself heartburn or high blood pressure. Rod's a sociopath;
insulting you is his natural state and so more fool you if you let
    him get you riled up.

Rod, have you ever tried Scientology? These are people who train
at eliminating emotional reactions from one other. I bet you could
stir them up big time, even without mentioning Xenu.

    Nick.
