    Unlock Audiovox CDM-9100

    Hi,

I have an Audiovox CDM-9100 currently on Bell Mobility Canada ...
How do I unlock it, so as to use it on some other carrier like Fido or Virgin Mobile?

even you unlock the cdma phone you can only hook it up to a cdma network like telus, in u.s. sprint and verizon. you cannot hook it up to gsm network like fido, roger, microcell.

You also need the master lock code to enter the programming menu of the phone. The master lock code consists of 6 digits, all random, so good luck guessing it

PLEASE NOTE THIS REPLY IS COPIED FROM ANOTHER OF MY REPLIES!
Any time the word "Bell" appears, has replaced the word "Telus"

It is technically possible, but, trust me, VERY DIFFICULT!

You would need to get a personnel at Bell to unlock your phone, because it is a CDMA phone it can ONLY be unlocked by Bell.

The chances of Bell unlocking the phone for you are slim to none, I have been trying to get an LG 535 unlocked by Telus for a few months, but to no prevail.

I personally have been told to try and bribe personnel, but they also would not accept my offer.

If you wish to persist and try to unlock the phone, I suggest going to either a Futureshop or Wireless Wave and TRY and get them to unlock it, but in most cases, they will refuse.

If you manage to get the phone unlocked, CDMA dealers (Bell, Telus) will NOT activate the phone, so you would, once again, need to go to a Futureshop or Wireless Wave and get them to activate it, and tell them that it is indeed unlocked.

I believe the unlock code is referred to as the MSL, so that is the number you would need to ask them for.

    >PLEASE NOTE : You would only be allowed to get your CDMA phone activated at (in Canada) Bell or Telus. Outside of Canada, it would only work on a CDMA network!

Please note that Fido is a GSM carrier, there is no way possible you could activate your phone at Fido.

I believe Virgin Mobile is CDMA, but to add to this, I am not sure. I just know Virgin Mobile is a division of Bell as they are on Contract with Bell.

If Virgin Mobile is CDMA, you could activate your phone there.

Yep, Virgin Mobile is CDMA as well, as they are using Bell's network (they leased some space from Bell).

And good post Reversed. And on that note, I am accept bribs of $10,000 and more for the MSL

    Re: Unlocking Bell phones

If you want to get your phone unlocked, it just takes a bit of social engineering...find a 1-800 number for bell activations at a best buy or futureshop or wherever.

Once you're talking to someone say that there is a problem with the customers (your) web service...he'll have you do a mini nam setup on the phone again, and in doing so will give you unlock numbers so that you can program the phone. He will ask for your name and your store number... futureshop stores are FS<storenumber> so like FS61 for example.

That's probably your best way to get an unlock code, it's how I got mine for my audiovox 8615 (i worked for futureshop at the time)

    Re: Unlocking Bell phones

Master Lock Codes are still specific to each handset. That master lock code you gave will work for your phone only and not any other ESN.
