Solo Mobile uses the Bell Mobility network, they have a contract to use Bell's cell sites.

Other than that, their plans aren't really very extravagent. They have some good 10-4 rate plans, but only if you're willing to ONLY use the 10-4 service and no regular voice calls. Also, you have to be in a 1X area to use most of Solo's features (such as 10-4).

Basically, if you're looking at Solo Mobile, look at Bell Mobility instead.

personally i disagree with what abom is saying ...i think solo is good...if you talk at night ...if you don't well then go to something else....but with solo you dont have to go under contract and the phone is cheap and a good phone....free txt and call display its hard to beat that!

Actually, yes, I suppose the no contract part isn't bad. And if you don't need any daytime minutes what so ever. Or do nothing but text. But if you use your phone like most people do, Solo is useless.

    Re: solo

Hello Everyome. I have never done this before so am very green I have a SOLO contract that is for two years and I have completed my first year. Has anyone attempted/actually cancelled their contract and what were the penalties? I have heard that cell phone contracts are going to be considered illegal. I searched for evidence of this on line but saw nothing to this effect. Does anyone have any information on this or is it just urban legend?

as far as i'm aware it's a minimum of $200 or $20/month for every month you have left on your contract. but call solo customer service and ask (1-877-999-7655). they'll tell you the exact amount.
