I have purchased a bell KRAZR off ebay to use on mts. I noticed that it did not let me use the browser after I got mts to activate it. I have heard that the web browser will not work unless you buy the phone from mts themselves. I am wanting to upgrade to a Blackberry 8830 from ebay as well but I would definatly want the web browser to be working for that kind of unit. Has anyone heard of non mts bell phones not being able to hook up to the web???

Correct. The device is provisioned to connect to Bell Mobility's data network. Even now, your device is trying to access Bell's data network, and is getting rejected because Bell's network is not detecting your phone as an active unit (which it isn't since MTS is not Bell).

If you buy a Bell Blackberry, data will not work if connected to MTS' network.

Ok Thanks. Let me know if you find a place where I can buy a blackberry 8830 that will fully function on the MTS network (if any) and not pay the $800 that the mts stores are asking.

    Thanks

Full Price for Bell is $649 too, so I don't think you'll get the unit much cheaper....

The bell ones I have looked at on ebay are between $390-$420 new in the box. I was hoping to find an mts one for that price. Maybe I will just have to get one with a package through mts.

Have you tried scouring your local classified site(s). A lot of times you'll find someone trying to unload a phone they no longer use. Posting a wanted ad may eventually get you results too.
