Here's my situation:
- I am currently with Bell and have a Samsung m-500. I reside in a basement so there is very little reception when I have my phone on. I am able for the most part it seems to have texts come and go (never really used the net on my phone) but cannot really do anything about calls to save my life. The phone might have a bar if I am lucky but calls with instantly drop if they do come through - I usually have to go upstairs where even then sometimes it takes forever to get better reception. If I do keep the phone on (which I mostly have to because my mom is unwell and I need to be on call if something happens) the battery obviously will not last long - but this phone in particular seems to have battery issues because it's already been in for repair and it's still dying after a day or so, even if I do turn it off and only use it at work (maybe a total of 40 texts in the day, sent/rcvd) and maybe 1 call
I have thought of getting a blackberry for myself, but I do not know if I would be better off staying with Bell for a blackberry or going to Rogers. I am worried that if I stay with Bell that I wont really have any better reception with Bell even with a blackberry. I have obviously only heard great things from Rogers about how great their reception is in a basement.
Therefore I am looking for some assistance here, should I just stick it out with Bell and hope that a blackberry will in fact give me somewhat better reception, or do I switch over to Rogers based on their "great basement reception"
Thanks,
Ness

Re: Would I be better staying with Bell or going to Rogers?
I totally understand your situation on the basement, I actually had to stand close to a window to get 2 or 3 bars, but i would usually just go outside to make a call. I also have been watching my Samsung A920's battery life not go longer than 1 - 1 1/2 days without needing to recharge it (but it is 2 years old).
Personal if you looking for an advantage on reception post this question in the rogers section, because just switching phones really isnt going to get you better reception is all about coverage.

Re: Would I be better staying with Bell or going to Rogers?
I find my bell has the best reception than all other phones. I had trouble with rogers and fido at home ...however bell works flawlessly at home. Also, when I am playing golf all over the place around gta, all other phones (my friends with rogers/fido/telus) stop working but my bell is still working.
You should try with friends/neighbour's rogers cell phone and see if it works any better in your basement than the current bell phone.

I suggest you test other friends phones, and see which plan works better, and stick with the better one :P

I would definitely recommend switching to Rogers
