I have a Bell phone, contract finished a while back, and I'm on month to month. I intend to get rid of Bell and move my number to 7-11 Speak Out. I've already bought and activated my 7-11 phone but have not yet contacted either company about the number transfer.
From what I have read, whether I give them 30 days notice or not, Bell will charge me for a month of unreceived service after my number is moved. This is written into the Terms of Service, and has been frequently reported online. Naturally I intend to pay for the service they have given me. Anything beyond that is extortion. Realistically though, if I don't pay their rip-off fee, they'll just send it to a collection agency and it will hurt my credit rating.
Do I have any options at all, besides get ripped off?

Re: Getting out of Bell without being extorted
Good luck I have been at this for over a year now and they are still ignoring us.
The forum won't let me post a link yet as I am new..
See Bell Contracts...has this happened to you.
I believe they are the worst company I have ever dealt with. Not just mobile ...the worst. ..They should be investigated in my opinion. ..I would highly recommend to stay away from them ...as far away as possible.
