I'm new to this forum and not very tech savvy but have learned lots in the past few days. Here is my situation: I purchased an iphone 4S at the end of June 2013 through Bell Mobility. I've had no issues with the phone until this week. I did update my phone to iOS 7 last week but I can't remember exactly when. Two days ago I discovered that I wasn't receiving incoming text messages (a friend asked me why I wasn't responding to her texts). I found out yesterday that I also cannot receive phone calls. When someone tries to phone my cell instead of going to my voicemail they get a message saying 'the customer is out of the service area'. So the current situation is that I have no problems making outgoing calls but can't receive texts or incoming calls. I also have issues making outgoing texts. I've been on the phone for the past 2 days with both Apple and several Bell Mobility techs. They've had me do everything from back up my phone to itunes and reset, reset the network, take out the SIM card and replace it, change the SIM card etc. None of this has fixed the problem. Every Bell tech I've spoken to has told me this is very weird and they don't understand why this is happening. The last Bell tech I spoke with told me that when he looks at my account it says my phone is operating on the CDMA network but that this isn't possible because it is a GSM network phone. When I ask them how this could happen and why it worked fine up until a few days ago they reply that they have no idea and will 'put in a ticket' and 'escalate' the issue. The Bell tech also said he would go on record as this being the most bizarre case he's ever seen. Unfortunately because this is a holiday weekend I probably won't hear from them until next week. I was instructed to call back next week if someone from Bell Mobiltiy hasn't contacted me by then. At this point I just want a new phone because I'm not confident in the current model. To make matters worse, I'm a medical professional working on-call who requires a reliable cell phone. Has anyone ever encountered something like this or can you offer any advice? I'm tired of hearing about how weird my issue is and just want someone to fix it!

I'm curious if you ever figured this out?
