Summer's here and as is iPhone rumor season. As usual, the latest batch of gossip comes from an unnamed source and includes only little more than the obvious details — that the next generation iPhone will be a faster, better and more powerful device.

Bloomberg reports that "two people familiar" with Apple's plans have shared that the next iPhone will be introduced in September and contain a stronger chip for processing data and a more advanced camera:

The device will include the A5 processor, the more powerful chip that Apple added to the iPad 2 earlier this year, along with an 8-megapixel camera, up from the 5-megapixel model in the iPhone 4, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the details aren’t public.

These specs of course fit right in with rumors we've heard in the past, but one particular detail in Bloomberg's report doesn't: That the "new iPhone will closely resemble the iPhone 4."

While we're quite glad to hear that the slick and clean looks of the iPhone 4 might not disappear in the next iteration of the device, we do find it noteworthy that this suggestion clashes with prior reports that Apple is seeking to dramatically change the iPhone design — and possibly add a curved glass display to the device.

Well see if the Iphone still holds up when it finaly arrives in stores. Who will be competing and can they keep up with Apple.

What will be interesting when confirmed, is the Design, will the glass curve, will the Phone's design mimic the Mac AirBook.

What's interesting is the lack of promoting 4G/LTE, yet, a faster and more powerful Processor is rumored.

Another amazing thing is when the iphone was introduced, its battery wouldn't last a day without a re-charge, it had a poor signal with combined faults sharded by At&t and the frame/grip thing... and it still kept selling, that said something which i couldn't understand, i guess its the want at all cost syndrome.

I tested my Battery last night giving it a full charge (iPhone 4 √erizon) before bed and disconnecting it when it hit 100%, upon checking it this morning, it was still at 100% after idling for Appox 7-8 hours. (connected to WiFi)... that's a battery i could live with.
