Was wondering if something is wrong.
I thought the bluetooth headsets were made to work 30feet or so.
My reception seems to degrade considerably, even when I simply put the phone in my pocket. 12 feet away I loose contact with the phone completely.
Is this normal?
Maybe something is wrong with my HS700?
Are there bluetooth knockoffs out there? - maybe mine is not a true Motorola unit? I bought it on a popular auction site.

I don't know if the bluetooth range on each phone is different. I think they can range at about 10 meters or something like that. Anyway, why would you wan't to be 30 meters away from your handset? lol!

Re: Reception at a distance???
Classes:Class 1 has a maximum output power of 100mW (20dB/m). Class 1 supports an unobstructed line-of-site range up to 100 meters.Class 2 has a maximum output power of 2.5mW (4dB/m). Class 2 supports up to a 10 meter range. Class 3 has a maximum output power of 1mW (0dB/m) with a very limited range."
The actual BT headset would not be a factor. its going to shoot out class 2 period.
The headset needs to be on the same side of your body as the handset. in or out of pocket.Last edited by camstuf; 09-13-2006 at 01:35 AM.

It seems to do very well, within 'line of site".
Oh well, to bad.
I guess if they increased the output it would just fry everyones brain.
