Can you put a boost sim card into a GSM phone like the t720 and use it internationally like you can with nextel?

I know I cannot take a nextel phone overseas but if you put a nextel sim into a Motorola t720 you can use it overseas. I am asking if you can do the same with a boost sim?

if you put nextel sim to gsm phone your not gonna get anything, no screen and signal. but if you put it just in another nextel phone, im sure it's gonna work.

Here's where Boost's coverage currently exists:

Taken from: Boost Mobile Coverage Maps

Alabama Arizona Baja, México No. Calif So. Calif

    Colorado Connecticut Delaware Florida Georgia

    Hawaii Illinois Indiana Kansas Louisiana

    Maryland Massachusetts Michigan Missouri Minnesota

Nevada New Jersey New Mexico New York No. Carolina

Ohio Oklahoma Pacific NW Pennsylvania So. Carolina

Tennessee Texas Utah Virginia Washington DC

    Wisconsin

Because Boost Mobile and NEXTEL use different billing methods (basically Boost rents airtime from NEXTEL and resells it) the SIM won't work "Internationally" as does NEXTEL. Boost Mobile currently only has coverage within North America via NEXTEL, NEXTEL Partners, and Access America (all NEXTEL invested/co-opted properties). This alone doesn't even cover the entire iDEN network. Because of the extra covanents NEXTEL obtained from GSM providers in other countries, the NEXTEL SIM would work; however, Boost does not have those covenants and would need to negotiate independently... which they have not done as they want to keep coverage limited to NEXTEL's own billing areas. It would not make sense for them financially to negotiate for a prepaid/rented/non-contracted service because billing would be a nightmare, the rates differ in each country, and the expenses to reconcile with the 80 some providers NEXTEL co-opted with would be more than the usage would dictate.
