hey guys i just boost mobile today, i just had a question about roaming.

I got an i355, i just wanted to know if i am outside my coverage area, can i roam onto another network like verizon, att, sprint, ect?

If not, can i get a different type of phone that would allow me to roam onto those networks?

Ok either you must be completely new to cell phones or you are just wanting an answer without doing the research for yourself. Either way i'll answer.

Boost Mobile operates on a special wireless network called iden. AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and other major carriers do not operate on that network at all. Nextel however does. Basically if your phone does not get service...then you will not get service there, period. If you need service at those areas i suggest you go to Virgin Mobile with their $49.99 unlimited minutes, since they operate on the Sprint CDMA network, and it's available in more areas and the price is close enough. Good Luck.

yea i had no idea what iden or cdma or anything was, but i reserached it alot and i know the answer now, but thanks for answering anyway.

Also for anybody that might be wondering, Boost mobile offers a cdma plan also its $50 dollars unlimited nationwide, and that plan does allow you to roam to verizon but if you do you get charged .15 a minutre but you can text for free (double check on the texting thats what customer service told me)

but sprint is a huge enough network that you probably won't roam
