I currently have helio and my contract is up the 25th of this month so ill be switching. I am waiting for more android phones to come out and to see if android really goes to sprint before i open up another 2 year contract so i am going to go with boost for now.

I am torn between the blackberry 8350i and the i9. I am really going to be using the phone for HEAVY text messaging and for taking pictures. I wanted a phone with flash and vbideo which both have. I am leaning towards the blackberry because of the full qwerty keyboard but i have heard that text messaging could be faulty on some phones so i dunno what to think.

    Need your expert advice guys

Seriously the point in life is to move forward. Boost Mobile does not have very good reception in many areas. I am blessed to no longer have to deal with their service.

If you are a teenager or less than it's fine, but as an responsible adult dealing with jobs, contacts & family you need a reliable phone & service. I would not recommend Boost to anyone who depends on their phone for service.

I had Boost for two years, CDMA phones offer good reception as they work off of sprint towers but ALL of their new phones work off of the OLD iden network that is simply a thing of the past.

Obviously if money is tight & you have no other option than good luck, but your a taking a step backwards...... a BIG one

    peace

yea i know its not gonna be the greates of phone but i am done with my contract on the 25th and i want to wait to see where this android battle goes before i get into another contract. I would rather not get into a 2 year contract then a phone comes out that i want for another carrier.....i am going to get a cheap boost phone before i purchase either the BB or the i9 to see what reception is like in my area...

I basically just want to hear from the people who have had experience with either phone positive or negative.

OK, I get where you're coming from. Before I answer the question about your two device choices, let me add that if you do not want a contract, you can try Virgin Mobile and experience CDMA Sprint network (they market as Virgin, but use Sprint network).

Now, if you are choosing between the i9 and the BB8350i, I would definitely go with the 8350i. The i9 will be troublesome in two ways - it has a terrible battery life, and it's not going to be good for heavy texting w/o the QWERTY keyboard that comes with the 8350i. The other advantage of the 8350i is that it has WiFi, so if you're staying put near a hot spot, you can get good data network speeds. Just keep something around to charge the thing, as WiFi uses up the juice faster than normal use. Of course, there are countless other advantages to the 8350i because it's a smartphone. The 8350i may be more pricey, so you can also consider a couple of other phones that Sprint & Boost have launched - sliders and such types which have the button, but also a better keyboard and bigger screen for texting.

yea right now i have helio which is virgin mobile now so i know how the recpetion and all is. I may take a look at their phones/plans and see howt hey look. Im going to boost today to pick up the cheapest phone and im gonna use it for a few days to see how the recpetion is then return it and if i like it im gonna pick up the 8350i on ebay. As far as the texting issues the 8350 had is that taken care of with the new version update?

And which new phones have sprint & boost released that i would like btter than the 8350i? I see the one blackberry but it doesnt have a flash for the camera

Ok here's the deal.....when u get a brand new 8350i and put yo boost sim in it everything works EXCEPT txt,bb instant messenger/pin...the bb browser is ONLY usuable wit a wifi connection...now as far as flashn there's no flashn the bb your only addn the correct servicebooks to get mms workn and for the browser to work w/o wifi so who eva mentioned flashn the 8350i only said flash to be able to chrg ppl so they think it would be hard to do

Hey did that deal work out? Was interested in doing the same..

    Hello,
I find myself switching from T-mobile to Boost mobile. I'm paying $150/m with my G1 phone. I like the idea of the boost unlimited plan..but alas..the boost mobile phones seem to really suck.
I heard the blackberry 8350i was the best phone available for the network, is this true?

Tank, hit me up, your deal looks really good for the price if they are for new phones (that are boost ready)

Know of anyone who would want a T-mobile G1?
