Quick question.. I live quite a ways away from any large cities, but I'm right smack in the middle of Sprint's Mobile Broadband coverage area. We have absolutely no high speed internet options out here aside from satellite.. And I'm not dumb enough to sign a 2 year contract for $100/mo 1.5mbps internet with a 1sec lag that they can turn down to dial up speed at any time they feel like it for the remainder of my contract.

So I'm thinking about getting on the Boost unlimited CDMA plan and using that for my internet connection. Where I work, we use a Sprint broadband card and it works great.

Is the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network CDMA? I'd like to make sure that it is, in fact, what the Boost CDMA plans run on. I can't really find out anywhere.

I've found places that say "Sprint Mobile Broadband (EV-DO CDMA)", but I'd like to be 100% sure.

    Thanks.

Thanks, but I bought an HTC Touch Pro and I am in fact right in the middle of their broadband network.

$50 for unlimited calling, texting, 1.5mbps internet and no contract. Good deal

Hey I have a sprint Touch Pro2, and I want to activate it with boost mobile. Do I just get a boost mobile 50 dollar plan and put the sim card in my phone and thats it? Or do I have to unlock something?

Re: Boost / Sprint CDMA Network?

My Touch Pro does not have a sim card.

    What I did...

Bought a Boost phone from WalMart with a $50 card.
    Activated the phone.
I read somewhere that you have to get on the CDMA plan before you can activate Sprint phones on Boost.
    So I bought a C290 off eBay for $30..
Called Boost, activated the C290, they wanted to do a bunch of stuff that would have taken longer than I was willing to wait, so I just told them the battery was dead and I lost the charger, I'd call back when I found it and finish the reprogramming.
I called back, told them that the I wanted to switch phones again (from the C290) and gave them the numbers from the Touch Pro.. The lady told me Sprint phones can't be activated, so I hung up and called again, the next guy did it no problem.
    That was it.

You can try it without getting the C290 (the cheapest Boost CDMA phone, just to get you on the CDMA plan) and see if it works, I thought about this, but ordered my C290 and TP at the same time. I also thought about just calling them and telling them something like I bought my kid a KRZR for Xmas and wanted to switch the plan so it'd be ready to use when it arrived. But like I said, I read somewhere that you have to be on the CDMA plan before they will activate your Sprint phone and whether or not they will switch your plan without having a CDMA phone, I don't know.

    [edit]
Also, a little tip, Boost is not officially supposed to provide tech support to Sprint phones. I was having an issue with my phone going online (it still worked as a wifi router, which is all I cared about, my computer could still go online).. So I called and the guy tried a few things, checked the ##904010# settings, they were correct. Then he asked me to edit something and hit OK then tell him what it said.. Well on the TP, if you edit those settings and hit OK, it wants to reset. He says, "You don't see "View, Edit, Cancel?" Which I didn't, then he asked the dreaded question, what kind of phone is this? That's when I learned, if you want tech support from Boost, just never tell them what type of phone you have. I played stupid, "I don't know..".. "What color is it?" .. "Silver." .. "Silver and black?" ... "Yeah."... "It doesn't have a camera on it does it?".. "I don't know, I don't think so."

So he credited $5 to my account for having network troubles and the phone reconnected to the data the next day.

Wow thank you so much! That was really nice of you to explain it all out for me! One question, when you said you gave him the numbers for the touch pro, what numbers are you talking about?

    Thank you so much!!

On back of the phone, behind the battery. I don't have the phone on me or I'd tell you.. MEID, I want to say.

    That was the only number.

What's the difference? Boost customer service WILL activate the phone. If the first one doesn't, just call back. I know this.
