Re: How to get sprint phones on boostmobile cdma
Why do you say to go to sprint.com? I want to get a sprint phone to work on boost. Shouldn"t I go to boost.com? When I try to set up user name on sprint, it says my info does not match their records. I have no account with sprint, so I am confused. Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: How to get sprint phones on boostmobile cdma
I went and bought cheapest.cdma phones they have and then tries what the post said when I tried to activate it, it would give me a problem, so I just called customer service and told them I want to switch to krzr and gave my BlackBerry esn. It worked

Re: How to get sprint phones on boostmobile cdma
Well I just called Boost. Because they see that I have a blackberry phone, they send me to the blackberry specialist. I gave them the number from a sprint blackberry and they could not switch it over. Should I call and NOT tell them it is a blackberry??? What am I doing wrong??

Re: How to get sprint phones on boostmobile cdma
ok. to help clarify things, sprint owns boost, so sprint.com i assume handles all the online accounts for new boost accounts right? that is why you are telling us to go to sprint.com? another question...does anyone know if ALL features are garanteed to work? i heard even unlocked nextel phones need configuring before switching them to boost, even tho sprint sales reps already told me i could switch it (without esn# tricks)....so i was wondering if there might be any problems switching a sprint blackberry to a boost unlimited plan
ive picked out the blackberry world 8830 from sprint...if it goes to the boost unlimited plan, blackberry features will not work? what does a blackberry do besides blackberry emailing and blackberry instant messaging? (sorry never had a BlackBerry before) just wondering what i will be missing on the unlimited plan instead of the blackberry plan.
and is there ANYONE out there who disputes the idea that all features will work like normal using this method? if ANYONE has had any kind of problem with their converted phone it would be very helpful to let me know what kind of problems.
my main concerns are unlimited minutes, unlimited text, and unlimited internet. don't care about sprint tv, or anything sprint offers. i am only concerned about making sure all the boost features are working.

Re: How to get sprint phones on boostmobile cdma
TANK, I tired to sign up at sprint.com, but when I enter the info requested, ie. name, email, phone number and zip code, I get an error-"We are unable to validate you are the account holder. Please chat with us by clicking the icon on the upper right hand side of the page."
Is there another way I am supposed to be registering at sprint.com??
Some other info. The phone I bought initially is a blackberry from Boost. Then when I read that my sprint blackberry would work, I have been trying to switch the phones. Am I having so much trouble because I have a blackberry account ? Could it be that they are more scrutanized? I have a short time left to return the boost blackberry for a refund, so any assist would be appreciated.

Re: How to get sprint phones on boostmobile cdma
well, boostgirl.
The boostmobile $50 unlimited plan is not the same as the $60 unlimited blackberry plan.
If you put a blackberry from sprint on boost, even if you pay the 60 dollar plan it may not fully work. But it may.
people flash phones to other companies. But, they usually lack some features, doesnt matter if you pay $100 extra, it is just that the phone is not fully compatible.

eileen,
I don't think what tank is telling us will work because sprint owns boost but has nothing to do with boost. It is like calling coca cola to solve a problem for sprite... same comapany but may not have anything to do with each other.
so, I dont think going to sprint.com will work since their account have nothing to do with boost. As far as I know people are having problems doing it.
btw, i would pay anyone who teaches me how to flash phonesto boost or metro.

Re: How to get sprint phones on boostmobile cdma
well this is too much uncertainty and too much of my money could get tied up. if i buy a used sprint phone from, and it doesn't work, then im screwed becuase im not going to sprint. i couldn't if i wanted to. im just about to say f-it, and pay for the boostberry new. i'll just keep looking for a good deal on a used one, even tho they're so new....hey previous poster, if you get your sprint BlackBerry working, i'll buy the boostberry off of you!!!

Re: How to get sprint phones on boostmobile cdma
ok. is flashing the same thing as unlocking? if not what is the difference?
so nobody disputes the fact that using this ESN# switch method, or unlocking, may not allow some of the features to work properly? this is an issue with ALL unlocked phones?
i talked to a boost mobile rep a few minutes ago, and she told me, yes, you can do the esn switch, yes, you can activate an unlocked phone, but there are bound to be issues even if they do it themselves in the store with an uathorized switch like nextel phone to boost service.
so therefore, since i want assurance that my service will work properly, i think i will buy a used boostberry and put it on the boostberry service. if you don't care about missing texts or not being able to access the internet sometimes, then go for it. but i want all my features, its not a good enough trade off for me.

[QUOTE=boostgirl;1385470]
I have a boost phone and plan and my texts, vm, missed calls etc come in late and when I txt other people they receive it in some wierd format and sometimes comes in as an emergency message and some ppl tell me it has sad faces attached that I didn't put in. Therefore, you can pay full price for phones through boost mobile and your services probablywont work right anyway.

Re: How to get sprint phones on boostmobile cdma
Ok all, I made the switch and I succesfuly have my Touch Pro working on Boost but here is my concern and question.
Has anyone who is reading this thread been audited or had their service canceled because they are using a sprint phone on boost?
I flat out refused to clone my ESN because it is illegal so I used the real ESN from my TP to do the switch and it is working fine but my biggest concern is that I will randomly get audited and they will see my ESN is sprint and they will cancel my account. The reason I have this concern is I read in some other forums that a guy who works for boost warned of this as a possibility.
Thanks in advanced!

Second question, how long have you had Boost service working ?
