I mean, what happens with your number and account when you sell it, and how does the person buying it go about in getting an account. Does the buyer just take over your old account, but what about your name and other info. Can you transfer shrinkage points to the buyer?
I would like to change carrier. And contacting boost is out of the question, as their idiotic contact number is completely automated, with no real person to talk to, I've tried long enough that I was ready to throw the phone into a wall.
But I don't see how I would sell it considering my account, shrinkage, phone number and all that, and whether it gets transferred or what?
P.S I searched google for this question, but the only thing that came up was an idiotic ehow article with dumb advice like sell it to one of those online used cellphone dealers, and also, create an account on their sites, doh. It didn't answer anything important.

Re: How do you sell your Boost phone?
What a mean forum. I hate when users just come to read a post for their own curiosity only to leave, even if they know the answer. I mean, on a cellphone forum, under Boost Mobile specifically, no one has ever sold a phone and can provide some no brainer or pointers?
What happens with your number, account, does it normally get transferred to the buyer or do you just close it and have the buyer open his own.

The view count doesn't necessarily mean that 'someone' viewed a thread. It goes up whenever 'something' views a thread page, like a bot.
Anyway, I'm not as familiar with Boost, but I would imagine that as long as the balance on the account is paid and the service on the phone is turned off, you should be fine to sell it. If you no longer use the number, they will recycle it, but it probably won't go to the new buyer of the phone. They will get their own number when activating their account.

Re: How do you sell your Boost phone?
Hey, thanks for your reply, finally.
What I want to do is port my boost number to another carrier. But since my boost account has shrinkage (i.e reduced monthly rate due to on-time payments) I'd like to transfer that to the buyer, as a sort of perk for buying it.
That may be too detailed to answer. But, I assume perhaps even if I port my number to another carrier and sell the phone, the buyer could simply sign up with boost and get his/her own number, since it is a boost phone?
ps. selling it to one of those online dealers is out of question. They seem worse than used car salesmen. I checked the worth of my phone on one of those sites, and they would pay $4 for it. It's not even worth the hassle.. So I must sell it to a private individual.

See my blog here>>>Keeping current ph # - Blogs - Cell Phone Forums
Boost has online links to port to Boost.
If contacting Boost is a problem, contact the other carrier.
Forget about transfering shrinkageLast edited by camstuf; 12-14-2011 at 04:28 PM.
