well the nissan Altima has been on the market for quite a while. It went through a major face change (design change) a few years ago, and has improved Altima sales. But nowadays, new cars are kinda ruining the big hype about the Altima. Sales for the Altime has gone down which makes the Altima great comback in past tense.

The Altima always had the 3.5 engine. Its not better than the Maxima. It clearly states in Road and Track that even though the Altima and Maxima shares the same engine type (3.5 SE), Altima pumps out only 245 hp while the Maxima pumps out 265 hp. But for the hp per dallor, the Altima is $117 for 1hp while the Maxima is $129 for 1 hp.

The new Altima having 280 hp? hmm, which year model are u talking about memoni?
here are some quotes from consumer guide showing the latest stats for both the maxima and altima according to engine performance.250 @ 5800265 @ 5800
The Altima's current stading horsepower for the 2005 is still in the decision process, but nissan promises at least 250 hp. Both Maxima and Altima shares V6 engines, but the Maxima is more expensive. Maxima http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/n...x.cfm/id/37410
