Im not really into sound systems and stuff just the "CAR" itself and some modification techniques....but since ur saying that Digital Design 12's are good...why not get those?. . . : : " D a " - C a r - C o p ~ R. E. S. P. E. C.T. : : . . .

I dont know much about subwoofers, but ive seen some really sweet looking kicker subwoofers.
I know that clarion, cadence, xplode and pioneer are pretty good.
Make sure your car can handle subs. ive heard of a guy whos subs made the panels of his interior shake.

i have a pioneer. IMO it sounds great, but im not listening to hop hop at high volumes or anything..mostly rock.
JL is very good also

JL's are always a good choice. their W0 line are excellent but I also like the Infinity Perfect series. they are the ones with the aluminum cone. very sweet

JL's are good. I'm not a fan os Sony
If you want mega bass i would go with Digital Design. They are very bassy, basically coz there competition subs
Alpine Type R's are probably the best all round. They can play any type of music and are rated at 500rms each. combine that with an mrd-m1000 and booya you got an awesome system-Daniel

Anywayz... there really is no "best" brand of subs; its all up to you. You design a system to suit your music tastes (or budget for that matter).
Go the Jl's for quality; they produce some wickedly deep notes, but not as loud as say mtx, dd or kicker's.
Kicker solos are good for waking up the neighbourhood . Not too good with sounds quality or responsiveness but they really 'pound'.
