05 Altima SE-R ....havent really heard of it much..
But i guess heres some pics of it....
and quoting from Autoblog
"John Gilbert of the Budgeteer News is unabashed about his sneak preview test of the new Altima SE-R. I guess we won’t feel too slighted but come on. Anyway, Mr. Gilbert gets behind the wheel of a black 6-speed manual SE-R in the wilds of Seattle. The power is bumped up by 10 to 260 in the 3.5L V6 and there are a couple more foot-pounds of torque too. Gear ratios are slightly revised and of course there are larger 18-inch wheels and sticky low-profile tires. In the end Mr. Gilbert seemed to like the SE-R version of the Altima and suggests Nissan had to rise to the challenge the Mazda6 put down when it entered the fray of import sedans last year."
Ive been focusing my attention with cars on Mitusbishi lately...and i havent been paying attention to most other cars....but the bolded parts of this quote should give you an idea of some of the modifications on the SE-R. . . : : " D a " - C a r - C o p ~ R. E. S. P. E. C.T. : : . . .

All's I have to say is.. NO!!!
First.. it costs some 28 thousand dollars. Go buy a Lexus IS300 or BMW 325i, or G35 with that money.. something that at least has RWD, rather than the FWD... at least you won't get an obscene amount of torque steer like in this, considering you have quite a bit of power.
This has got to be one of the worst possible deals I've ever seen in my life..

Unless ur really dieing for the R logo from nissan...then i prolly would say get somethin cheaper with the "R" - the Sentra
but 28k is a lot of money. . . : : " D a " - C a r - C o p ~ R. E. S. P. E. C.T. : : . . .

Personally.. I don't think anyone really has a reason to go for the "R" of Nissan.. theres no prestige for it; and it's name is not yet synonymous with performance. Doubt it ever will be either, if SE-R continues like it is today.. FWD and crap like that...

I sat in one at an auto show and it's not bad interior wise, seats were nice clutch was kinda soft though and overall it wasn't to bad. But at 28k there are much better choices out there (STi, EVO, AV6 6MT, 350Z, G35 etc)

The STi and EVO sure as hell are not competitors of this.. considering they're rally bred sports cars, pulling over .95g on the skidpad, and running 70 mph on slaloms. With this comes quite a bit of discomfort.. and people buying a "sporty" family sedan sure as hell aren't looking for discomfort.
G35 sounds like a better competitor, but it costs quite a bit more.. Nissan wouldn't give you the choice of a superior car, and an inferior car within the same price range too easy. And what's AV6?
BTW.. you seem to come here to talk a lot about cars.. www.sportscarforums.com good forum, I'm igaboj on this forum if you decide to join.
