Just recently got the Samsung D500 and will be putting away the Motorola Razr for now. At first look, the phone looks amazing with its sliding feature and brilliant colors when you turn on the phone.

    Pros:
-Camera is great (1.3mp) much better than the Razr's VGA camera. Its also able to record video which is great new feature the Razr didnt have unless you bought it from T Mobile or did it yourself through your computer.
-The internal memory is MASSIVE! around 80mb, so you can hold alot of pictures, videos, mp3 etc.
-Slide feature is pretty cool compared to the flip phone which i like as well. It slides up very easy but not too easy so it would open up in your pocket.
-The mp3 player is a cool little add-on i really liked. (Comes with 2 full songs with purchase of the phone)
-Pretty big screen, and bright colors so its easy to the eye in any light. I havent had much problems with it being too sunny out.
-The size is pretty nice, about the size of your palm and when the slide is up, only about 3/4 your hand.
-Alot of mult-keys on the front of the phone when closed so you can easily just check msgs without opening up the phone. You can also take calls with the phone closed.
-The Bluetooth that was added is a must now-a-days and it is great. I transfered all my photos and mp3 ringtones from my razr to the d500 with no problem.
-Keypad lock everytime when you close the phone so you will not be hitting buttons in your pocket. You can disable the keypad lock as well.
-Voice Clarity is a great feature i can hear everyone very clear.

    Cons:
-when you are texting, (I like to use both hands to type) the phone feels top heavy and sometimes feels as if it will fall out of your hand.
-I am not sure if there is a speakerphone but i can get over that.
--This is kinda personal: but i usually get like 2-3 bars of service in my room and now i am really not getting any maybe 1-2, but everywhere else the service is great.

Overall i am very pleased with the phone, and the cons i have listed i can easily just get over. if i had to rate this phone out of 10, and 10 being the best i would give the phone a 9.5/10

Hope the information helps, and i will try updating the pros and cons if any of them come up.

    Re: Samsung D500 Review

Well after a couple months of usage, i have figured a few things out.

Added a few songs to the MP3 player and it works great, forgot to mention it comes with a pair of earphones so you can listen on the go.

The situation with the signal strength was cleared up. The D500 is a tri-band phone, and since it was unlocked from Tmobile and i use Cingular it doesnt get the best service possible. I figured this out by putting a friends Tmobile card in it and it was getting flawless service everywhere. So i was alittle bummed out about that.

Ive got over the top heavy part of the phone, but what could be annoying for T9 users is that the D500 doesnt support it; im probably phrasing that wrong, what i mean is that when you open up a new text box you would have to hit a key to activate T9, or you will be using the triple tap crap, unless you like that stuff.

What it could use is a flash card holder, so you can listen to more music, but that was upgraded in the new D600 which is out now. Thinking about trying that out, since 1) its quad-band (could get better service hopefully, 2) better camera 3)couple more bells and whistles etc.
