Well, it has been more than my promised two weeks (as stated in my previous review) But the more time I spend with my razr, the best review I can give, so here I go.

So, last time I gave the phone a pretty good round, what with it's moddablity, games, video support, ease of use and such...

Well, now I have had the phone for more than a few months, and I am ready to tell you exactly what I think of it.

The Motorola Razr is the best phone I have ever used (I did a few phones during this time, so...) It is like Mac says "It Just Works". I mean, it's got a super long battery life, I have had it running good for a week without a recharge, and it's still says full (I turn it off at night, which greatly helps it's life, why have it on when you don't need it???).

Using the phone with the PC involves some work, but works well. Modding it is very easy, and putting games on it is a challenge, but once you have done one game, you have done them all. I like this feature, becuase I buy these games and having to erase everything off my phone sucks, cuz I have to buy those games again, well not anymore becuase I can hve them backed up to my pc, and get them with ease. Using the Razr with a mac is so easy. I don't know about games tho, but simply dragging and dropping files to the Razr is the hardest part, and that is wayy easy. It connects through bluetooth, so file transfers are kinda laggy, but hey, I deal.

The phone's reception is terrific on my T-Mobile network. Although internet browsing on it can be very very slow, and not worth 6 bucks a month, you can surf the net nonetheless. The volume on this phone is great too, unlike the previous phone I had, as discussed in my first review of this phone.

The phone is said to be very "breakable" in a sense. Well, it's thin, what do you expect. Well, I have sat on it a few times, and I can tell you, you will notice ur sitting on it before it breaks (although I'm not very heavy, so I dunno) And I have (I know, this makes me sound like a total loser) I have lost my phone. I had it in my pocket for easy access (half sticking out) And I guess it fell out in front of our door. So when I wanted to make a call, I couldn't find it, so I picked up my phone and dialed my cells number, then I hear my ring, walking down the hallway, lol. My grandma picked it up outside on the front doorstep. It has a few scratches, but not too bad (And that darned little piece of dust is still in the middle of the freakin' screen is driving me freakin insane, it's just there, people tell me not to look at it, but it doesn't help cuz I know that it's still there) But the phone survived the fall, and being in over 100 degree temps for almost a half an hour sitting in the sun on my doorstep. So yes, the phone is pretty durable.

So, over my overall use, this phone has served me very well, and if it every dies, I will get another one. So I give this phone a freakin 9.899. Why???

    Cuz, it's a

    RAZR, nuff said.

I registered in order to reply to this.
I agree the phone is tougher than it looks. I carry mine around on a drilling rig and have dropped it several times. I keep it in a cover to minimize scratching it.

I have looked at features from other phones and only one thing would make me change. A phone that one could connect to a PC USB and a charger at the same time and I don't know of one (other than the old Star Tacs or Nokia 6100) that can. A USB connection is faster than Bluetooth.

Small complaint. After checking all over I am sticking with my V3, the only people I have seen do better are still using old pull out antenna phones and they can't message.

BTW: Have you ever had yours in a pants pocket and bent over to tie a shoe or pick up something? This switches my ringer from loud to silent!

Re: Motorola Razr V3 Review Part 2

I have the Razr V3t and T-Mobile. I in general I like it.

There is one issue I have experienced though.
I keep the phone on my belt, in a swivel case, and on occasion when bending over or driving my car the SMART key is pressed for a few seconds and the camera turns on without my knowing it. The first week I had the phone the battery only lasted 3 days.

After I found the problem I changed the SMART key function to something else. The problem is that when the flip is closed the SMART key STILL controls the camera. Apparently the function is hard wired.

I have tried different cases but most are relative snug around the phone and do not eliminate the problem. I even tried the snap on plastic covers which do add some protection around the side buttons, but then the phone will not fit in any of the cases I have.

Have others experienced this and have you found a solution?

    Thanks ..... Jim

Assign security to the keys which essentially will require you to enter a code before the camera app (or any other app) can be started.

    Thanks Khris for the response.

I set FUN & APPS to locked and this prevents the camera from accidentally turning on.

Locking the Camera, Pictures, Video, and Games is not a big deal for now because I hardly use them, and entering a unlock code lets me use them when I want to. In the mean time I will search for a case/holder that will shield the buttons. Thanks for the help.

Re: Motorola Razr V3 Review Part 2

OK, I'll guess you guys will just have to call me Mr. Negative. I've had a Razor for about 5 days now and I'm packing it up to take it back. By the way, I use almost 4000 minutes a month, so I'm not just a part time user by any stretch of the imagination.

First issue, the display window not only is very difficult to read because of the background and color, but the numbers are extremely tiny. Thereefore it makes it very difficult to see who is calling. Thus I had no choice but to change the properties so I could open the phone, without answering the phone, to determine if it was someone that I wanted to talk with.

Second, the belt clip is not user friendly. With many other phones, I've been able to just reach to my side and easily and immediately remove the phone from my side.

Third, I've lost several calls because of incoming calls. I've asked people to hang on and when I finished the other call, I was unable to reconnect back to my original party. This has happened about 10, maybe 15 times, which is way too many.

And please keep in mind that the above information has been documented after only a few days of use. To each his own, but I have found that many Nokia designs are much more user friendly.

I'm sure you're getting the idea that there are many more phones out there that are superior to the Razor phone. I can't wait to get rid of this thing.

    Thanks,
    KT

Re: plugging razr into your puter

I registered in order to reply to this. You can connect the Razr V3 to your computer, I have using a usb cable. It will plug into the port on the side that you plug your charger into.

Re: Motorola Razr V3 Review Part 2

The phone isn't that bad, but I'm starting to look around for another one. The OS is way to slow for me and it takes too long to do certain things. Plus I want a higher quality camera and I'm sick of having the same phone everyone else has. Seriously. At work we are sitting on a table and I pull out my phone to text, the person sitting diagnally from me picks up their phone cuz it's ringing, we both had Razrs, a kid on the end noticed this and mentioned it, and all seven of us pulled out our Razrs, there were two blacks, three silvers, and two pinks...

I don't even surf the net on it anymore, it's not that the phone is slow, but it's internet connection is slower. The OS is slow though! But I"m not gettin a new phone for a while, I want a feature full phone, but not with the kind of useless features that the iPhone presents, but enough to make the phone unique... but I still enjoy using my Razr. And I love having T-Mobile and being able to switch networks. When I went to wyoming, none of my friend's phones had service, but I had nearly five bars no matter where I went, for the most part (between Alpine, Teton, and Jackson Hole) I was using Edge Wireless.
