Its definitely a sleek looking phone. A friend of mine has one and he seems to like it for the most part.

    Re: RealTime LG DARE REVIEW

After having it for a few days, here are my initial impressions.

I really like the dare. The phone is compact, fits in the hand or pocket nicely. Touch screen works beautifuly. Have made a few mistakes where I go to scroll and it selects the item instead, not many but a few. Is just a learning curve.

I originally thought I was going to have to trade in for the voyager, as I am a big texter, and it is a little bit slower for me on this phone, with all the steps you have to go through to do a text, or add a contact. On my env, i would lock a text from all my friends i text a lot to, and had my shourtcuts set up where I push the arrows to the right to open my inbox, scroll down to who i want to text, and just hit reply. Instead of having to go new text, add contact, etc...

I really do like this phone and decided I love everything about it and some of the things that I am not used to such as texting fast, i will just have to take my time and just slow down a little and learn to use it the best i can.

On the env if you are typing a message and needed to use the comma, you just hit shift and the comma key, seems like to me on this i have to hit the 123 key to bring up the symbols, then hit comma, then abc back to continue typing. If someone were to ask my honest opinion on this phone my response will be " I love the phone, it is a great phone, however if you do text a lot like i do you may find yourself going a little slower than you used to. If you still need to go as fast as you used to you may want the Voyager. But the Dare is an awesome phone"

Im going to stick with it and learn the ins and outs of it because it is a very nice phone.

will report back when I get some more time on it. I did use some of aepple's tips, such asusing the call button to send the text instead of hitting done, then send. Just takes out one less step that is not needed.

Can you guys give me some insight into the stock ringtones and also customizing your own? That's one thing I'm into with my Samsung I760? With previous phones I had to edit & modify them and then email them to my phone. With the 760, I just make them, throw my memory card in my laptop, transfer the tones and then stick the little guy in my phone and copy and paste them to the sounds folder.

There is no way to edit the stock ringtones that I have found short of special software and a computer.

As far as making your own... thats easy... then just send them to your inbox and save them as a ringtone.

NOTE.... I would also save them as sound on your card too, so if and when your phone dies or you change, you still have them and can again resend them to your inbox to save them as ringtones.

however I do wish the Dare had an edit function for sounds
"like they do for video"..... that way we could record our own sounds "like our grandchildren etc" and edit out the parts we don't want to save them as ringtones.

I wanted to add that I really like the Dare. I purchased the Moto Krave originally and returned it as after my wife purchased the Dare and found it to sound better move faster and have a nicer screen.

This is my first non flip phone in a long time and I have to say no issues with random phone calls yet.

    Re: RealTime LG DARE REVIEW

I have an 8700 thinking about going to a DARE. Can you tell me if Dare's calendar will sync with google calendar and how? And is it any bigger, more room for entries, easier to read? I can sync my 8700 with google calendar using bitpim, but was wondering if I could sync the Dare w/o going through bitpim? Thanks.

    Re: RealTime LG DARE REVIEW

Yea! There are only 1 or 2 wireless devices (camera wise) that can beat the Dare...

Here's the problem, now Kodak is making a complaint and a lawsuit which may prohibit any cell cams from getting any better than the Dare's...
