this news is a couple days old but i just heard about this today
http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news?slu...v=ap&type=lgns
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) -- Colorado forward Steve Moore was taken off the ice on a stretcher after being jumped from behind by Vancouver forward Todd Bertuzzi midway through the third period of a game the Avalanche led 8-2.
Moore delivered the hit last month that knocked Canucks captain Markus Naslund out for three games with a concussion.
Bertuzzi sought revenge when he punched Moore in the head from behind while skating at center ice. Bertuzzi jumped on Moore's back and drove him face first into the ice, knocking him unconscious.
Trainers from both teams rushed to Moore's side while players from both teams squared off for more fights. Moore was motionless on the ice with a puddle of blood pouring onto the ice around him.
Avalanche officials said Moore was conscious as he was taken from the arena to a hospital.
the guy ended up suffering a broken neck, but no spinal damage they say. i saw the vid of it, bertuzzi stalked him like prey and absolutely pounced him. i dont think i've ever seen anything so premeditated in any sport. i'm sure theres probably been worse incidents internationally. bertuzzi is now actually under police investigation for assault.
i'll try and find a link to the vid if i can

They should kick him out for the rest of the season (possibly off the team, permanently), investigate the incident for possible criminal charges and if cleared possibly have a hearing to decide if he can ever play hockey again.

he is done for the season, including playoffs, if the team makes it, and he might not be able to play when next season starts. he's also being investigated for criminal charges by the canadian police. he could possibly break the record of 23 games suspended

somebody go to the guys house (bertuzzi's) and shoot him in the kneecaps with a pistol. that'll set things straight.

funny when i was wakin up today a game was on ABC. the announcers were lashing out at "outsiders" taking "shots at their sport." basically they were tryin to defend the NHL and sayin its not violent, with one guy saying he would rather have his daughter "marry a hockey player than a player from any other sport." well lets get this straight, hockey IS THE ONLY MAJOR PROFESSIONAL SPORT THAT ALLOWS FIGHTING IN THEIR GAMES (other than boxing, ultimate fighting, that stuff). Any other sport, if you throw a punch you're ejected IMMEDIATELY and probably fined & suspended. I'm sure in the NBA all 3 of those are automatic. Even if your swing doesn't connect you get tossed from the game. What happens in hockey??? The players take off their helmets, throw down their gloves, circle each other and start fighting. EVERYONE just stands around and lets them go at it. When someone gets taken down then and ONLY THEN do the refs intervene and try to pull em off. And what do these players get? A 5 minute penalty. Sometimes they get a 'game misconduct' and get tossed, but rarely. They might get fined but I've never heard of any suspensions.
theres nothing about fights under the NHL penalty guide!!!
http://espn.go.com/nhl/s/rules/penalties.html
the nhl is also the only league to have fighting in their video games!!!! check out any new hockey game and i guarantee you there is a fight mode in the game. i've only seen one football video game that had a fight mode ('super high impact' back in 96 or 97, the time of snes and genesis) but that game was all about 'no rules.' now that i think about it it was sort of the predecessor to 'nfl blitz.' i have not got a chance to play 'nfl street' so i dunno if theres fighting in that one
and of course to make things look worse, near the end of the game the announcers were hyping a much-anticipated matchup between detroit and memphis. 'hey wasn't their 11 fights in their last game together?' the announcer asked. so now it was like they were using expected violence to try and hook viewers to watch the game. what a bunch of crap
long story short, the abc guys came off lookin like hypocrites. i dont know why they're trying to defend their sport. it was only a matter of time before something like this happened
edit: forgot to add 'MLB Slugfest' has fighting but its offscreen and you dont get to control the player. and i think you can dropkick the catcher while sliding into homeplate but thats pretty lameLast edited by vinsanity; 03-14-2004 at 12:25 AM.

yea what idiots...
HOWEVER.. i say keep the fighting
i mean, hey, sex/violence sells, and in this case, VIOLENCE is giving the sport great publicity. thats one of the reasons why i enjoy hockey so much, its mutha phukkin INTENSE!!! people get checked slammed jammed (any other rhyming words) and the amount of adrenaline in the sport is enticing. compare that to... say bowling, golf, tennis, soccer, or basketball. its what puts hockey apart, and thats why its my favorite sport to watch on television ( aside from nude women wrestling in oil ). however you have a valid point, those fools are hypocrits. hockey/soccer/rugby are some of the most dangerous mainstream sports out there, but its just a part of the game. as for basketball, even verbal abuse and disparaging epithets will get you major fines and possible suspension, etc. but hey, things like this happen. what ever happened with the incident where latrell spreewell choked his coach??? thats a huge backflash scandal.

The golf ball just looks simple. If you look deeper, then this is a very serious construction.
- The weight of the golf ball must not exceed 45.93 grams.
- Rebound, when throwing a ball onto a concrete surface from a height of 1 m at a temperature of 25 ° C, cannot be more than 85 cm.
- The speed of the ball in golf at the moment of impact must not exceed 70 m / s.
We've given you some tips https://golf-hook.com/reviews/best-g...-swing-speeds/ to help you buy golf balls with the right spin speed to help you improve your game. A logical conclusion follows from all this: you need to buy the best balls.
