Which of the three is the best console?

    Xbox, Gamecube or PS2.

I have all three and I think PS2 is best because Pro Evolution is exclusive to the PS2. I use to think xbox but now splinter cell is on all the consoles.

You know what? This question is the same as asking: Which is the best OS of Windows, Linux, BeOS, QNX, Solaris, OS/2 and Mac OS?

Visually Xbox is the best. That's because since it is based on th x86 Architecture, the console game programmers have an easy job of programming games as it is similar to the PC, or almost identical. This is why they are able to take full advantage of the 'box.

Now, for the PS2, it is based on God-Knows-What IBM PowerPC architecture. Thus the game programmers are completely proficient enough on the PowerPC architecture to take full advantage of the PS2. That's why the games are not looking that good. It is said that the Gran Turismo has utilised only 25% of the PS2's power.

Technically the PS2 blows the Xbox hollow.
    Feature|Xbox|PS2|
    Architecture|32-bit PC based architecture|128-bit architecture
    Clock Speed|733Mhz|300Mhz
Note:32*733 is lesser than 300*128. Thus PS2 wins.

There is a dedicated page on the PS2 data through put etc. etc.

But for the average gamer, s/he should take the xbox(like me) coz, they don't need processing power, they only need thei games to look good.
It doesn't matter to them if they have a 2560-bit wide data bus[PS2](it's not a typo). PS2 achieves its goal by extreme parallelism, while Xbox uses x86- architecture(easy way out).

    Any more questions?

Edit: You can forget about GameCube

Ok, Al other than the Zelda games (which no doubt are awesome), GameCube doesn't have anything for it. Ninny(Nintendo) is not very open about 3rd party vendors developing for their console.

PS: I like Zelda games. There was one(I think Zelda 2), bloody darn hell, i couldn't even crack the first step and left it long ago. Then I recently Nemulated Ocarina of Time, but again I'm stuck inside the Jabu-Jabu's belly. Which ones do you have Al? Those Zelda games fill the void created by mindless shooters(like Q3A), you need to think a lot. I totally forgot about Zelda.

Ok, Forget the Gamecube, if you don't like Zelda games, otherwise don't wait.
    Now is that better?

Yes, KOTOR for the 'Box is great, but If you get it for the PC, it is ama-amazing. It uses the NeverWinter Nights real-time, turn based combat system(did I confuse you guys with that "real-time, turn based")

I think that sounds like Zelda and the Ocarina of Time
Wait until you get to the forest temple and you will go mad with the crazy music playing ....
I like the new one the Wind Waker - pretty much at the end of that one - though I find Zelda games very satisfying because they take a long time to complete - they aren't linear (you don't have to do the right thing in the right order to progress) you can run around and explore where ever you like! My brother came to my house and was up everymorning before everyone just to get in a few hours on Zelda - then he went home and got a game cube so he could get Zelda...

I totally Love Ocarina of Time. But I think should I get a GameCube just for Zelda games, or should I wait till they come for the 'box. If they ever...

    Al, Al, Al,
you know what? I always did like the gamecube. But I only wish that there was a superconsole which could play all three platforms' games.

Then would it be called the XplayCube, or CubeBoxStation, or GamePlayBox?

I like the NGCs pokemon game(the new one that came on GamerTV), and sometimes wish why couldn't Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo tie-up and give us best of three worlds.
