Talking about Lucid dreaming...I dont know if this is it or not. I had a dream last nite that I was reading an invitation. I was trying to read and I read the time on invitation is 7:30 but for some reason I was able to look at it closely and change the time to 9:30. I think this thread give me ideas that you have the power over your dream. That was kinda cool, I have to try that again next time.
But the night before that I have a dream that my cousin and her wife are dead, they went to visit me and they got lost somewhere and found dead ( I think I got carried away with the hostage news). Although someone said if you dream that someone dies, it usually means the opposite that they will live long.
I usually don't sleep easily, the last couple of days I have been taking some panadeine (cuz I have a bad migraine that I haven't had for a long time). That is when both dreams occur, I don't usually dream much.
When I was younger I often had a scary dream about this :
1. Got chased by scary monster and I have to run and run and run (sometimes I can fly too ).
2. Went into a room/location and suddenly the floor collapsed and I fall into a black empty space.
Found this definition of Lucid Dreaming just in case someone wonder what it is:
Lucid dreaming means dreaming while knowing that you are dreaming. The term was coined by Frederik van Eeden who used the word "lucid" in the sense of mental clarity. Lucidity usually begins in the midst of a dream when the dreamer realizes that the experience is not occurring in physical reality, but is a dream. Often this realization is triggered by the dreamer noticing some impossible or unlikely occurrence in the dream, such as flying or meeting the deceased. Sometimes people become lucid without noticing any particular clue in the dream; they just suddenly realize they are in a dream. A minority of lucid dreams (according to the research of LaBerge and colleagues, about 10 percent) are the result of returning to REM (dreaming) sleep directly from an awakening with unbroken reflective consciousness.
The basic definition of lucid dreaming requires nothing more than becoming aware that you are dreaming. However, the quality of lucidity can vary greatly. When lucidity is at a high level, you are aware that everything experienced in the dream is occurring in your mind, that there is no real danger, and that you are asleep in bed and will awaken shortly. With low-level lucidity you may be aware to a certain extent that you are dreaming, perhaps enough to fly or alter what you are doing, but not enough to realize that the people are dream representations, or that you can suffer no physical damage, or that you are actually in bed.

I often close my eyes before I go to sleep and I can see around the room with my eyes closed - not just imagining but actually seeing things that are in the room, like my clothes on the floor or something different in my room... I have been able to do this since I was around 15 years old - it's kinda freaky and usually happens just before I fall asleep but I know it's not a dream because I often open my eyes to check out what I'm looking at...
my parents think my ghost story was a dream

YaY *lol* ...I think it will be good, i just never think about it before, now I will not be scared in my dream anymore...even if I fall into bottomless pit I can alter it to a fluffy fairy floss YUM
Does anyone ever experience this, I used to have this quite often when I was younger...When I almost fall asleep, suddenly I hear screaming, pitching noise on my ear...and it becomes louder and louder, til it goes as loud as it could be. The bad thing is it wont get away and I don't have control over it and I can't move my body at all...I can open my eyes but nothing else ( I was even too scared to open my eyes ). The only thing I could do to break the noise is when I can move my body again...which is very hard to do. It usually lasted for minutes (or feel like it). It feels like a torture. I'm glad I never had it anymore...
When I used to sleep in that room, I always had wierd kind of dream. There is one in particular that I still remember...I feel like I was flying pass the window, outside the room (its on the 3rd level) and I can look down to the people on the street and then I seems to fly higher and higher and travel to different places but for some reason there is a great sadness on this dream when I was looking down at these people which I do not know why.
Mind you there has been some people possessed in this place and they are eating raw flower and talking wierd language It is very true that you should never let your empty mind wander and invite bad spirit into you. I do believe that our soul is higher than any bad spirit in this world and that you shouldn't be afraid.

I want to go off topic for a sec seems like this room is the best place to share so here goes. I have a wierd ablity to black out everything in the room close my parifial sp. vision off and see nothing but black it doesn't matter if the rooms dimly lighted or all the lights are on I experiment from time to time and found that sometimes I can hear things while doing this, just wispers nothing I can make sense of sometimes it's louder than others but I can never make out what their saying. Anybody else know something about this?
