I have searched the net quite a bit but could not find an answer.

My question is, when does downloading become illegal?

What I mean is of course downloading a full movie or song is illegal but say I had a full episode of a show and wanted to show someone on the net, the last 30 seconds of the episode. Is this still illegal or is it not because it was not the whole show but just the last 30 seconds of it.

Any link to web-sites that explain this would be great but not needed, if anyone know the answer, then can you please tell me. Thanks.

even if you watch a glimpse of it and it is copyrighted, it still illegal. it doesnt matter anyways because its not like the FBI will come over to your house once you open the movie.

Well... maybe not your house but then again you never know! ...anyway, true it's so rampant that the odds are against it at this moment but then your odds in favor of having the bureau "knock" on your door did just increase by posting this... I'm sorta' joking ...but I'm also sorta' serious at the same time.

What if it was a movie or episode you taped on tv and only uploaded the last 30 seconds. Is that still illegal then?
