Cellphone for the 8-12 year old crowd?

They've ruined enough things cause of there parents, no cell phones for little kids

8 y/o with a cell phone... no... i had my first when i was 12... and that took A LOT of debate with my parents... it was a motorola c333... i loved it... then i got bored... but a 8 y/o sould NOT have a cell phone, mainly A) They're too yung, and B) It affects un-devoloped brain cells.

That's terrible...why in the world would an eight-year old need a cell phone? I got my first when i was 14 and i didn't even need it then, i only got one because it came with my mom's plan.

But again... the phone only dials who you (parent) program it to dial, and receive from who you program it to receive... the 8 year old isn't gonna have it to her head 24/7 talking to gramma if you make gramma aware of the situation...

If my lil boy wants to sneak a call to me or his daddy from the bathroom of his first sleepover with friends... I'll tell him I love him.. I'll tell him he's gonna be okay... and I'll tell him that the joke works better if you dip their hand in warm water AFTER they fall asleep

unless it's like the president's 8 yr old daughter or something, there's no reason for an 8 year old to carry a cell.

Realy what is so important for a 12 yearold to have a phone on them all the time. I thiink familys should have a cell for when the kids are going out for awhile in case they need to call home but what reason whould a 12 yearold have to have a cell in school or when there going around the house.

Kids at that age don't need a phone unless they go out without an adult or someone that will take responsability for them. Cellphone use for them should be limited because most 8-12yr kids stay home.
