    Hello,

I often find myself shooting the bad guy (once it was batman ) to win a "free" popular gadget. I've tried a few, but there is always times when you have to give out your credit card number, and sign up for these stupid offeres.

Has anyone ever gone through with one of these offers? Is there a particular one that can be trusted?

    Thanks

in my view these offers are part of a marketing gimick to get information from people whom they can send spam mail too

agreed veebs! If the deal is worth the spam and junkmail? Then why not!?! I just gave out my spam email and snailmail address for an opportunity to win free diapers/nappies for a year !! (they give away one a month and lil J is pooeying through about 10 a day!!)

Well companies pay out plenty for marketing... and referrals especially... so it's worth it I suppose for all the legwork you have to go through on some of these so called deals... some work some don't... I have no use for them myself though... but I've signed up for a few things...

I will admit I get plenty of free gifts from companies asking for my consultation... pretty much everything from beer to automobiles thus far... I usually end up eating them if they were edible or giving them away to family and employees... still have a room here full of stuff... no cellphones yet though.

...and where does this $25 appear from.... pretty bold there! I would asume that there is a "fee" assessed to each of the retailers they deal with.....

This is real money. Jeaniesing is right, you can spend it anywhere online. Like jeaniesing said - it's like Paypal. I remember back when Paypal first started business, they offer $5 to all new sign-ups and I happened to be part of that . And now since GreenZap is doing the same thing, but instead, giving $25 to new sign-ups, there's no way I'm going to pass up on this offer.

Suppose it would be realy money in a way then!
I just like having money in my pocket rather than in a computer.

As somebody who has won a LOT of stuff online, including a five-day vacation in Hong Kong (flights, hotel, meals, etc. included), as well as computer hardware like sound cards, webcams, PDAs, and literally probably a dozen other things besides, I know what I'm talking about. In short - NO. It is not worth entering anything that:

    * requires you to refer X number of other people
    * requires you to pay a single cent
    * requires you to buy something to be entered
    * requires your credit card details
    * requires you to sign up for an account with company XYZ

These are pretty much *all* scams.
